ROSIGLITAZONE (roh-si-GLI-ta-zone) is the chemical name
for Avandia.
Avandia Common Uses
Avandia is used to treat type II diabetes; Patients with type
II diabetes cannot make enough insulin, and the cells of their
body do not respond normally to the reduced amounts of insulin
that are present. (Insulin is the hormone produced by the pancreas
that stimulates cells to remove glucose from the blood). Anti-diabetes
medicines, including metformin or insulin, as part of a diet
and exercise program may be used in combination with this medicine
for treatment.
Before Using Avandia
There are chances that any other medicines or medical conditions
may interact with this medicine therefore all prescription and
over-the-counter medicine that you are taking should be known
by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are taking other medicine
for diabetes than additional observation should be required
of your dose or condition. If you have any other medical conditions,
allergies, pregnancy or breast-feeding than immediately inform
your doctor. If you have newly diagnosed or worsening heart
failure (acute congestive heart failure) or type I diabetes,
it is recommended not to use this medicine. If you have heart
disease (e.g., chronic congestive heart failure) or liver disease
than additional observation should be required of your dose

Storage
Avandia should be stored at room temperature between 15-30°C
(59-86°F) in a tightly-sealed container and in a dry place
and away from heat, moisture and direct light.
