RAMIPRIL (RA-mi-pril) is the chemical name for Altace.
Four strengths are available for ‘Altace’
Capsules: 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10
mg.

Common Uses
Altace is used to treat high blood pressure; this
medicine is an ACE inhibitor. Treatment of congestive
heart disease may also be done by using this medicine.
It can also be used in other circumstances for treatment,
as if determined by your doctor.
Before Using Altace
For Women: Stop taking this medicine and consult with
your doctor immediately, if you suspect that you are pregnant.
If you use Altace during the last six months of pregnancy,
it can cause serious fetal harm. There are chances that
any other medicines or medical conditions may interact
with this medicine therefore all prescription and over-the-counter
medicine that you are taking should be known by your doctor
or pharmacist. If you are taking clozapine, indomethacin,
lithium, potassium, azathioprine, diuretics, or medicines
used to treat diabetes than additional observation should
be required of your dose or condition. If you have any
other medical conditions including connective tissue diseases
(e.g., systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma), allergies,
pregnancy, or breast-feeding than immediately inform your
doctor. If you have a history of kidney artery narrowing,
or if you have experienced an allergic reaction (angioedema)
to other ACE inhibitors (e.g., captopril, enalapril) than
it is recommended not to use this medicine. If you have

Storage
Altace should be stored at room temperature between 15-30°C
(59-86°F) in a tightly-sealed container and in a dry
place and away from heat and direct light.
