For using this medicine, follow all the instructions as given
by your doctor. Information leaflet is available for patients
with the medicine. Read it carefully. Consult your doctor, nurse,
or pharmacist if you have any questions about Advair. Use this
device in a level and always activate in a horizontal position.
Do not breathe into the inhaler. It depends on your response
and condition that what quantity of dose should be given to
you. After using this medicine, gargle and rinse your mouth
this helps to prevent dryness, relieve throat irritation, and
to prevent mouth infections (e.g., thrush). Do not ingest the
rinse solution. On a regular daily schedule, if you have been
using a "quick-relief" beta agonist inhaler (such
as salbutamol/albuterol), do not continue this schedule and
only use it "as needed" for acute asthma attacks.
And it should be stored at room temperature as directed on the
package in a tightly-sealed container and in a dry place and
away from heat and direct light. Inhaler should be kept dry
at all times. Even if you feel well, do not stop taking Advair.
Any doses should not be missed by you. Take the medicine immediately
if you miss the dose and remembered on the same day but if it’s
the time for your next dose leave out the missed dose and take
the medicine according to your regular dosing schedule, do not
take 2 doses at once.
Cautions
Without consulting your doctor do not stop taking this medicine.
There are possibilities that if the medicine is suddenly stopped,
the conditions may become worse. When the medicine is to be
stopped your dose may need to be slowly lowered to avoid side
effects. Without consulting with your doctor, do not use this
medicine more often than prescribed or do not exceed the recommended
dose.Dizziness may be caused by using Advair. Without knowing
about the reactions of Advair on you do not drive, operate machinery,
or do anything else that could be dangerous. Your ability to
drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks may be
reduces if you use Advair alone, with other medicines, or with
alcohol. Take the alcoholic beverages in limit. All prescription
and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking should be
known by your doctor or pharmacist while you start taking any
new medicine. This includes any medicines that contain ingredients
(e.g., cough-and-cold products, diet aids) that could increase
your heart rate or blood pressure. If you are not sure about
which products to use, consult with your doctor. It is recommended
to stop using the inhaler, if you have switched from an oral
corticosteroid (e.g., prednisone tablets) to this inhaler within
the past 12 months, or if you have been using this product in
higher-than-usual doses this is because your body may not produce
enough natural steroids. If your body is stressed due to a major
infection, surgery, or injury, it is advised that you may need
to start taking additional corticosteroids. Inform your doctor
that you are using corticosteroid. You may need supplemental
corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone) during stress periods (such
as trauma or major surgery) so always carry a warning card which
states about all the medicines you are using currently. If you
experience any symptoms of low steroid levels including unusual
weakness, weight loss, fainting, or dizziness, consult with
your doctor. More carefulness is recommended when Advair is
used by elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects
of the medicine. For Children: More carefulness is recommended
when Advair is used by children though it is very unlikely to
occur with inhaled steroids (fluticasone), this medicine may
decrease a child's growth rate, but not necessarily their final
adult height. Also, children using this medicine might be prone
to serious cases of common infections, such as chickenpox or
measles but it is unlikely to occur. For more details, contact
your doctor. For women: Consult with your doctor about all the
benefits and risks of using this medicine if you plan on becoming
pregnant especially during the third trimester. It is known
that one of the medicines in this product (salmeterol) is excreted
in breast milk and it is not known if any other medicine is
excreted in breast milk. While taking this medicine, do not
breast-feed.
